Looking for a Watch2Gether Self-Hosted Alternative?
Watch2Gether is closed source — there's no self-hosted version to run, only their hosted service. If switching away from Watch2Gether specifically because you want to run your own server, rather than just wanting a different hosted tool, you need an open-source alternative, not another SaaS product.

Getting started

docker compose up -d
Put it behind a reverse proxy with TLS (WebRTC requires HTTPS for camera/microphone access), point a domain at it, and you have a private watch-party server with the same feature set as the hosted version — synced YouTube and direct video playback, chat, calls, and screen sharing — running entirely on infrastructure you control.
If you'd rather not run a server at all, the hosted version is free with no account required either way — self-hosting is for when running your own infrastructure is specifically the point, not a requirement to get the no-account experience.
