How 2gether Watch handles your data
2gether Watch is built for temporary watch rooms without accounts. This page explains what the app needs to make rooms, chat, sync, and calls work.
No Accounts
You do not create an account to use 2gether Watch. If you enter a display name, it is saved in your browser's localStorage so it can be reused on your next visit. You can clear it through your browser storage settings.
Rooms and Messages
Room IDs are included in room links and used by the server to route WebSocket signaling. The server relays room events, chat messages, video sync commands, and WebRTC setup messages to other peers in the same room.
Rooms are intended to be temporary. Do not put private or sensitive information in a room ID or chat message.
Camera, Microphone, and Screen Sharing
Your browser asks before granting camera, microphone, or screen sharing access. Media streams are sent peer-to-peer with WebRTC when possible; 2gether Watch uses the server for signaling, not for storing your camera, microphone, or screen media.
WebRTC may expose network information, including IP addresses, to peers or STUN infrastructure as part of connection setup.
Video Providers and Feedback
If you load a YouTube video, your browser connects to YouTube and Google's embed services under their own privacy practices. Direct video URLs are requested by your browser from the URL you provide.
This site may load the optional SaySift widget when configured by the host. Feedback you submit through that widget is handled by SaySift.
Analytics
When configured by the host, 2gether Watch uses Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand site usage, such as pages visited and general traffic patterns. Google Analytics may set cookies and process your IP address under Google's privacy practices.
Operational Data
Like most web apps, the server or hosting provider may process routine technical data such as request times, IP addresses, browser details, and error logs to operate and secure the service.
